Trust Investment Bank first came into being in February 1992. It was incorporated as a publicly listed company under the Companies Ordinance, 1984, and is listed on the Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad Stock Exchanges. The Bank was formed by Mr. Tajjamul Hussain, a Senior Banker – with a capital base of rupees One Hundred Million and it started leasing operations in June 1992. The Bank obtained a license to undertake Investment Finance Services business in January 2005 under the Non-Banking Finance Companies (Establishment & Regulations) Rules, 2003. Subsequently, it was given the status of an investment bank by the State Bank of Pakistan and changed its name to “Trust Leasing & Investment Bank Limited” in August 2005. The Bank is regulated by the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan. To expand the scope of business, in March 2007, the name of Trust Leasing & Investment Bank Limited changed to “Trust Investment Bank Limited”.
The company is categorized as a Non-Banking Finance Company and is licensed by the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan to engage in Investment Banking and Leasing.
